How Fragrance Planet grew its website's share of sales by over 200%

Fragrance Planet's old website was so quiet the team didn't even have a tag for it. Three months on Bizthom, its share of sales has grown over 200%. Here is what changed.

Fragrance Planet sells perfume from La Viva Galleria in Lekki Phase 1, and to customers all over Lagos through Instagram, WhatsApp and TikTok. Like most Nigerian brands, most of its sales happened in the DMs and at the counter. The website was there, but it barely sold.

In July 2026 they moved their online store to Bizthom. Earlier in 2026, their old websites made at most about 7% of their sales. In the first half of October, the website and its AI sales assistant made 25%: a rise of over 200%. Here is what changed.

Before: a website nobody counted

Fragrance Planet had tried two websites before: a WordPress site, then a Zoho Commerce store in 2026. Neither became a real sales channel.

They recorded every sale in Zoho Books, and the team tagged each one with where it came from: Walk-in, Instagram, WhatsApp, TikTok or Others. Website wasn't one of the options.

Even if every sale tagged Others or left untagged had come from the website, it would still have been at most about 10% of their sales in 2025, and about 7% in 2026.

Three things held the old websites back.

1. Heavy pages

The WordPress site ran on at least 13 plugins. Its homepage pulled in 72 scripts and 83 stylesheets. On a phone on mobile data, every extra file is more waiting, and shoppers who tap through from Instagram don't wait long.

2. Buying meant leaving the site

The WordPress site's chat button sent shoppers to WhatsApp. From there, the team wrote up the order and sent an invoice with the bank details.

3. Paying meant proving it

62% of their invoices in 2025, and 71% in 2026, asked the customer to "kindly send an evidence of payment". The customer paid, screenshotted the transfer, sent it over, and waited for the team to confirm it before the order moved.

After: a website that sells on its own

Fragrance Planet's Bizthom website went live in July. In September, the website and its AI sales assistant brought in 10% of all their sales. In the first 17 days of October, 25%: 1 in 4 naira, and about 1 in 5 orders.

Light pages

Their Bizthom homepage starts with 8 script files and 10 stylesheets, against 72 and 83 before.

Search that understands what shoppers mean

Shoppers search the way they talk, and the way they spell. Type "dior savage" and Dior Sauvage comes up. Type "men perfume under 30k" and you get men's perfumes at ₦30,000 or less. Results show as they type, perfumes in stock and best sellers come first, and when nothing matches, the assistant offers to help.

An AI sales assistant on every page, under their own name

Ejiro is Bizthom's AI sales agent, and you can give it your own name. Fragrance Planet calls theirs FP AI Assistant. It sits at the bottom of every page, so a shopper can ask what they would ask in the shop. One asked: "Suggest one perfume that enters the room before me and hangs around even when I've left the room."

Checkout on the product page, in three steps

Tap add to cart and the bag opens right over the page the shopper is on. Three steps: the bag, their details, then payment. No new page to load, no account to create, no password to remember.

Transfers that confirm themselves

Customers pay by card or bank transfer right at checkout. Transfers confirm on their own: half of them were marked paid within 2 minutes of the order. No screenshot, no one checking the bank app.

Instagram traffic that buys

65% of website orders came from shoppers who arrived from Instagram. The posts were already bringing people; now the website turns them into orders.

"The AI (Bizthom's Ejiro) can take orders, it can actually confirm payments, it can do everything while you are sleeping. It just makes everything very, very easy."

FP AI Assistant: answering, following up and closing

The same assistant works Fragrance Planet's WhatsApp and Instagram DMs, not just the website.

"When you chat us in the night, you're going to get a response, because it's the AI (Bizthom's Ejiro) responding to you like a human."

"The one that is blowing my mind is the fact that it can recommend. If you want something citrusy, fruity, sweet, floral, it would go ahead and recommend perfumes that fall in that category. If you tell it your budget, it will recommend perfumes that fall in that category for you."

It doesn't just answer questions. It sells:

  • It closes sales on its own. It answers the customer and takes the payment, with no one on the team stepping in.
  • It answers before people buy. Customers ask about scents, prices and delivery, get an answer straight away, then order.
  • It follows up. When someone leaves their bag, hasn't paid or goes quiet, it checks in, and some of them come back and buy.

1 in 3 website orders came from a buyer the assistant had already talked to. Across every channel, it had a hand in more than 1 in 4 of all Fragrance Planet's orders in October.

WhatsApp chats close 4 times as often

We measured how many new WhatsApp chats turned into a paid order within a week:

  • Before the assistant (late June to late July): 3.5%
  • August: 4.3%
  • September: 4.9%
  • First half of October: 14.6%

The jump came once follow-ups were switched on in late September. The assistant started on Instagram on 2 October, too recent to measure yet.

About Bizthom

Bizthom is a commerce platform built around how Nigerians buy. It turns a conversation into a sale, and a first sale into a second.

  • An online store that converts. Reviews pulled from your DMs, including voice notes and photos, stock urgency, a bag timer, negotiating with Ejiro, part payments, pay on delivery and transfers that confirm themselves.
  • An inbox that sells. One-click orders from your DMs: products, address and delivery are filled in from the chat, and every DM sender is already saved as a contact with their name and number.
  • Ejiro, your AI sales agent. It answers, recommends and closes on your website, WhatsApp and Instagram, and follows up with customers who went quiet.
  • Automations and campaigns. Use ready-made automations, build your own or describe one to Ask Bizthom AI, and write campaigns with AI that bring customers back.
  • A POS that sells from the same stock count as your website and DMs.
