Meta Business Suite Inbox vs Bizthom Inbox: reply to your DMs, or sell from them?
Meta Business Suite puts your Instagram and Facebook messages in one free inbox, but Meta says WhatsApp sync isn’t available in Nigeria. It helps you reply. The Bizthom Inbox helps you sell: who’s ready to pay, one-click orders, payment confirmed, follow-ups.
If you sell on Instagram and WhatsApp, Meta Business Suite is probably already on your phone. It’s where you post, boost, check your numbers and, for many sellers, reply to DMs.
Its inbox is good at what it was built for: getting every message in front of you so you can reply. But a Nigerian seller doesn’t get paid for replying. You get paid when “how much?” turns into an order, and the money lands. That’s the gap this comparison is about.
Meta’s features below come from Meta’s Business Help Center, checked on 13 October 2026.
The short answer
Use Meta Business Suite to plan posts, run ads, read your insights and reply to comments. It’s free, and it does those well for Facebook and Instagram.
Use the Bizthom Inbox if you want WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, your website chat and customer emails in one inbox, and for selling from them: knowing who’s ready to pay, turning chats into orders in one click, confirming payment without screenshots, following up quiet buyers, and keeping your stock right across your DMs, website and shop.
You can use both.
What the Meta Business Suite Inbox does well
According to Meta’s help page on Inbox, you can:
- read and reply to Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp messages in one place
- read and reply to comments on your Facebook and Instagram posts
- mark chats to follow up later, move them to Done, and filter by who they’re assigned to
- add labels, notes, email and phone number to a customer’s profile
- set up automations: greetings, away messages, answers to common questions and keyword replies
- see which messages came from an ad, and track leads in a leads tab
And it all sits next to your posts, ads and insights, at no cost. That’s a lot, and for a seller who mostly needs to keep up with messages, it may be enough.
The catch for Nigerian sellers: WhatsApp
Most Nigerian sellers do most of their selling on WhatsApp. Meta’s help page on syncing a WhatsApp Business account with the Business Suite inbox says the feature isn’t available in some countries, and Nigeria is on that list, alongside South Africa, the UK and the EU.
Where the sync does work, Meta lists a few limits: WhatsApp groups and status don’t come across, only up to six months of past chats can be shared, and you have to open the WhatsApp Business app at least once every 20 days to stay connected.
On Bizthom, you connect WhatsApp by scanning a QR code with the number you already use, and your chats sit in the same inbox as Instagram, Facebook, your website chat and customer emails.
Replying vs selling, job by job
Here’s what a day of DM selling actually involves, and what each inbox does at each step.
1. Getting every chat in one place
- Meta Business Suite: Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp, where Meta’s WhatsApp sync is available.
- Bizthom: WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook, plus the chat on your own website and emails from your customers. The buyer who chatted on your website at midnight sits right next to the one who DMed you on Instagram.
2. Knowing who to answer first
- Meta Business Suite: unread first, plus the chats you marked to follow up and the labels you added yourself.
- Bizthom: every chat is marked for you: Ready to pay, Says they paid, Interested, or Likely time-waster, with the reason in plain words and how much is likely to come in over the next two days. You answer the people about to pay first.

3. Turning the chat into an order
- Meta Business Suite: Meta’s inbox page doesn’t mention creating orders. You record the sale somewhere else, usually by typing it out again.
- Bizthom: one click turns the chat into an order. The products, address and delivery are filled in from the conversation, and a WhatsApp buyer is already saved with their name and number.

4. Getting paid
- Meta Business Suite: not mentioned. You send your account number, wait for a screenshot, and check your bank app.
- Bizthom: send an account number made just for that order, and the payment confirms itself when the money lands. If the buyer pays some other way and sends a receipt in the chat, Bizthom reads it.

5. The buyer who said “I’ll get back to you”
- Meta Business Suite: you can mark the chat to follow up later, and remember to.
- Bizthom: chats that went quiet are flagged on their own and sent to you in a morning email. Switch on follow-ups and Bizthom’s Ejiro, its AI sales agent, messages them in the same chat, about the product they asked for. It does the same for unpaid orders and for bags left on your website.

6. Answering at 11pm
- Meta Business Suite: automations send greetings, away messages and set answers to common questions or keywords.
- Bizthom: Ejiro answers from your real stock and prices, negotiates within your lowest price, gives the delivery fee for the buyer’s area, sends the payment account and records the order, all in the chat. We compared it with Meta’s own AI agent in Meta AI for WhatsApp Business vs Bizthom’s Ejiro.
7. Comments on your posts
- Meta Business Suite: a real strength. Comments from Facebook and Instagram sit in your inbox and you reply from there.
- Bizthom: an automation can reply privately to anyone who comments on your Instagram post or reel, and carry the conversation into their DMs, where the selling happens.

8. After the sale
- Meta Business Suite: the conversation ends in the inbox. Stock, delivery and records are up to you.
- Bizthom: the sale comes off the same stock as your website and shop, delivery can be booked, and the buyer gets updates on WhatsApp. They’re saved as a customer you can sell to again.
Where Meta Business Suite wins
- It’s free, and it comes from Meta.
- Posts, reels, stories, ads and insights live in the same app. Bizthom doesn’t schedule your posts.
- Comments are in the inbox, ready to reply to.
Keep it for all of that. Just don’t expect it to sell for you.
The Bizthom Inbox is part of a whole commerce platform
The inbox doesn’t work alone. It comes with Bizthom, a commerce platform built around how Nigerians buy: a website that converts, an inbox that sells, an AI sales agent, automations and campaigns that bring buyers back, and a POS for your shop, all selling from the same stock.
- A website built to convert Nigerian buyers: reviews pulled from your DMs, voice notes included, live proof from real activity, “only 3 left”, a bag timer, negotiating with Ejiro, part payments, pay on delivery and transfers that confirm themselves.
- An inbox that sells: WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook DMs, your website chat and customer emails in one place, sorted by who’s ready to pay, with one-click orders from any chat.
- Buyers who come back: automations that thank, remind and reward, ready-made or built your way, or described to Ask Bizthom AI, plus WhatsApp, SMS and email campaigns.
See Bizthom pricing for what each plan includes.
