Tracking business expenses

Revenue is nice, but profit is what pays your bills. The expense tracker helps you see the real picture.

Why track expenses?

If you sold ₦500,000 this month but spent ₦400,000 on stock, ads, and shipping, your actual profit is ₦100,000. Without tracking expenses, you'd think you're doing better than you are.

Adding expenses

Go to Finance → Expenses and click Add Expense. Enter the amount, date, and category:

  • Inventory — cost of goods purchased
  • Marketing — ad spend, influencer fees, promotions
  • Shipping — delivery costs you paid
  • Other — packaging, tools, subscriptions, anything else

Profit and loss view

Finance shows your revenue minus expenses, giving you a clear profit/loss number for any time period. Use this to spot trends — are your margins improving or shrinking?

Tip: Log expenses as they happen, not at the end of the month. It takes 10 seconds in the moment and saves you an hour of guessing later.
